Mareks answer to Lars question

Dear Lars,

I totally agree with you that we both need to develop our chess skills. Therefore, we must learn and practice. Chess is fun, but it also requires hard work, so we have to take it seriously if we want to surpass a 2000 rating and maintain it for a longer time.

I think tournaments like Teamleague or our thematic tournaments give us a chance to develop our chess skills. Also, the chess puzzles we solve together are really valuable for our play, and sooner or later, they will lead to better results.

I know I still have problems with patience when it comes to longer games, but I have already started to use more time to think, and I hope it will only improve.

This way, I can play well in standard games like 45+45. We should also use the help of other players, books, and engines, and last but not least, practice some physical exercises as well as chess ones.

I believe we can become stronger players.

Your friend,

Marek
